The first answer is yes, but it could also be the brakes. Some sounds are hard to ID. Sometimes it is best just to let it get worse and then you can tell easer.

Re: wining noise slight when making right turn what is it tire noise or something more

now i would of said tires if you didnt say only at low speeds. i have a noise on my 2000 dodge dakota it started after i went in to waist deep mud drove in to a what i thought was a dried up lake bed actually was really wet under the crusty top. so after that i have had a grindinbg noise and it whines some times as well so i think i got mud in my drum brakes so im gonna take off all my tires and pressure wash the front brakes and the drums on the back il let ya know how it turns out.

Re: wining noise slight when making right turn what is it tire noise or something m

I have a similar problem. Whines like crazy at 55, completely silent turning right. I have replaced front wheel bearings, drive shafts, shocks, ball joints, rotors, pads, synthetic front and rear diff lube, tranny and transfer case lube job, still the same after all that and $400+ on new tires. It starts at about 15 mph (I can feel it in the steering wheel at this speed, hence the front end bits), gets to be almost unbearable at 55, almost silent (annoying background hum) at 65.

I never thought of the back drums; started in January after I found a water filled hole in the road so deep I plowed the edge of it with the towing hitch.

I'm getting desperate here.

2002, 4X4, 4.7, 110K Miles.
