Smile New CVT Transmission

I have been thinking about trading in my 03 for a new 07 or 08 Altima. All the local dealers that I have found only have the CVT. I went to the Nissan website and they just a short video bout it. Anyone know how smooth they are or how well they drive. I really want the 6 speed but the woman of the house wants an auto. Just curious if anyone knows. Any input is appreciated.

Re: New CVT Transmission

Not much of an expert opinion but, my wife wants a new altima so I test drove the 2.5 yesterday. I was very impressed with the cvt. It is definatly smoother than a conventional automatic, and seems to deliver the power to wheels very well. After a day of driving hondas toyotas and nissans we are definatley going for the altima one of the deciding factors being the impressive cvt.
