going active

i am thinking of going active with my current speaker ( re audio xxx comonoponts) and i know i will need a 4 channel amp to power them but is that the thing i need different?

I woudl definately recommend goin active, tis the best way to go, dependig on your situation. Do you already have an amp ? I was confused as to the end of your question. Are you asking would an amp and active set up step you up to the next level, or you asking if you will need anything other than that ?

active will be better in practically every situation. You will need, in addition to a 4 channel amp, a way to do the crossover active. Most 4 channel amps have them built-in nowadays though.

well i am debating if i want to go with sundown sax100.4 or kicker sx700.4 because of the sxrc

if the sxrc is the crossover module, don't ...... I have heard they work loose easily
