I send the guy an email and im waiting for him to get back to me to see how many miles the car already has, i just want to know in advance wat the number would around. Re: Milage limit

you can't ask what number it dies around, because every car is different. It all depends on the condition of the car and how well it was taken care of. I've seen numerous vr-4s run strong over 200,000 miles but they are well taken care of, however, i've seen vr-4s give people fits with a lot less mileage on them.

Re: Milage limit

it too hard to just spit out a number, it just depends on WAY too much. (driving habits, oil change interval, upgrades, climate, etc.)

just make sure the most recent 60k was done, make sure it doesnt smoke (beyond a little on startup), make sure it shifts nice and smooth, and check for all the normal stuff you normally would when buying any used car.

and even if it has 300k on the clock, if the price is right it might still be a good buy.

theres alot of good info in the FAQs too. it your seriously considering a VR4, its worth the 30 minutes it will take to read it. also check out the "vr4 as a first car" thread...even if its not your first car. alot of good info and insight in there too.

welcome to AF.

Re: Milage limit

Usually these cars need full maintaince every 60-100k miles, other than that they last forever and need things here and there replaced that most cars would anyways after 150k miles, in the 3000GT/Stealths community, our rides don't die they might get recycled/fixed/upgraded, a whole lot but they'll never die....

Re: Milage limit

1 reason for that is that mitsubishi made the body panels out of galvanized steel, so they are very resistant to rust. Its hard to junk a car that looks good...even if its 16 years old, has 300kmi, and the motor is blown.

galvanized steel, that's for both the 3kgt and the S. and is that just the body or also the floorboards and other things of that nature?
