Please help me ID this part..

I'm hoping someone here can help me ID a part; about center in the image you'll see a sensor (black with a splotch of yellow paint) somewhat protruding from the engie block. I believe this is the root of all my personal evil. Car is a '98 Sunfire / standard, 2.2 engine.

Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks.

Dude that's not a sensor ,it's your clutch fluid supply line, that's what disengages your clutch when you depress the pedal. what is the evil you speak of? perhaps i can help.
soak that thing with spray 9 and let soak 10 mins, then pressure wash. battery terminals are corrode remove ,sand shiny ,and reinstall, that may solve a few problems.
