heat problem

my 04 crown vict is only putting out cool air through the floor vent and defroster as well. the temperature knob is not making any difference when i turn the temperature all the way to hot. the heater core hoses and radistor hoses are all th same temp. there's no anti-freeze leaks aywhere, the air conditioner is ok and the temp gauge is normal the door opens and closes properly under the dash. where should I start looking now?

Re: heat problem

How do you know that the door opens and closes properly under the dash. If you are talking about the door that is under the glovebox, that one is to let outside air into the car. The door that more then likely isn't working is inside of the heaterbox that you can not see. It is controlled by an electric motor that is more then likely the source of your problem. Get ready to remove the dash.

Re: heat problem

If you are patient, you can remove the door actuator through the glove box hole. Tight, but we do it every day.
