Changing out the radiator on the 2000 model
Has anyone on this forum ever changed out the radiator on the 2000 model?
I can get the radiator for 225.00 People are wanting a total of 500.00 plus for them to buy it and install it. I want to tackle this problem next weekend if possible. Can a person do this? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

the radiator is pretty easy to get out. disconnect the battery cables loosen the motor mount front bolts take the bolts out of front motormounts then fold the motormounts back toward the motor. drain the radiator then take the bottom and top hoses loose from radiator . unplug the cooling fans. i believe there are some bolts holding the cooling fans to the radiator should be 4 . take the cooling fans out by pulling up on them they are a little tuff to get by the wiring harness on the right side just have to wiggle and move it around till you get them by the wires. on the left side of the radiator 3" below the fill for the radiator is the low coolant sensor unplug it.. as i can remember gm does not bolt the radiator but uses brackets to hold the radiator in place . this ought to get you at least half way thru it good luck

hey don't forget about the trans cooling lines that are going to the bottom of the radiator have to find a small plug are something to plug the ends as they will make a mess.
