Driving drunk

Are you sometimes driving without being "clear" ?
You know, when you're coming back from a dinner with friends... My question is : are you driving faster in these cases or more slowly (some people think it's not dangerous to drive drunk) ?

I tend not to drink, and would never get behind the wheel of a car if I was drunk, always when I go out with a group of friends we have a Designated Driver, because the Polizia are the biggest assholes, and tend to abuse thier power If I feel I've had too much yet I am by myself, I take a Taxi and pick up my car the next morning

Designated driver : it's really hard. It's like to "get rid of" somebody in the group....

drink-driving?Sorry,but no.Not even a 'quick one' on the way home....Every drink, even the first one, adds to the slowing-down of your senses and your reaction times. It just isn't worth the risk.I'd rather get a cab than die, thanks.

That said,it's an easy ideology for a non-drinker like myself to abide by.But if you are out with me,and you've been drinking,I'll only get into your car to drive you home.

I drive slower and rather paranoid-like. :o I had had 2 beers several hours before, but if I could still smell it on my breath, then a Cop could have, and if I get any convictions like DUI I can't get licensed to teach in PA, or really any state.

NEVER!!!! I don't like to drive afetr even one glass of wine with dinner. As Mr T said, even the first drink slows your reactions - ok only a little, but it has been measured.

btw Tangie, great avatar

Well I've only ever driven' after one beer. I'll never drive drunk, just the fact is risky, and a bloodly stupid thing to do. But North Shore City, has far too many cop cars.

Plus it doesn't help that i'm 17 and had my full licence less then a year. So my breath limit is about 1 beer or something.

I disagree with that limit.

If the person is NOT old enough to drink then the limit should be 0.
just my opinion, feel free to tell me to shut up. (not that I will )

Being under 18 doesn't mean its illegal to drink. Infact the times i've driven after a beer, have been when its been provided by my parents, to be drunk with them. Thus no laws being broken at all.

But I'm glad that limits there, so you don't get done for just randomly having alcohol on your breath. Like from mouthfreshner, and cherry ripe chocolate bars.

to be honest, i have made some pretty bad decisions in the past. Luckily nobody and nothing was hurt. But I have driving when under the influence and I defiently drive faster. Now, I don't have a car but even if I did I wouldn't drive after drinking at all. It doesn't help that when I have been drinking the only thing I want to do is drive. I learned my lesson and have gained the strength to fight the urge to drive after i have been drinking.

The decision not to drink and drive should not be made on the basis of how like likely you are to get caught. The smart money is on avoiding the urge to drink and drive on the basis that it impairs your abilities and increases your chance of an ambulance ride dramatically...

If that isn't putting it plainly enough, heres a picture-book version.

edit...Damn thing won't link.Will it upload?

Considering my size, if I have more then one beer every hour then I will not drive. Not so much because it may be borderline legal, but because I do not want to end up nor do I want to make anyone else a smear on the road.

Note I was not making it on a basis of being caught or not. Thats secondary, and not even taken into account.

I said it is a bloodly stupid thing to do, which by all accounts is. They way it slows down reactions and such. The fact you're more likely to die, etc.
