oil pump problem

ok this might be a dumb question but is there a gasket between the oil pump cover (thing im not sure what it is) and the front cover it goes over the gears, and bolts to the oil pick up. but i cant remember if it had one on there when i took it off and there is not one in the gasket set.

i have pictures but dont know how to put them on here.

I think there are only two gaskets on the oil pump,but on the other hand I would look in my Haynes manual just to make sure.I cant find mine so you will have to do some looking of your own.

If this is what you're talking about then no, there is no gasket. I believe I used some red locktite on the bolts though.

so there is no gasket between the 2 parts? i looked in the manual i got and it wont tell me a lot of stuff about the oil pump, is there any gaskets or seals in there with the gears?

Thats the FRONT CASE and OIL FILTER HOUSING gasket set along with the seals (including the oil SEAL, not gasket, we talked about). What I am talking about in my picture is in the upper right hand corner with those bolts that are in it. That covers the oil pump gears. There is no gasket that goes between it. Yes there is a gasket that goes between the front case and block which is the blue one in the link above.
