Harmon Kardon Soundsticks or BOSE sound dock

I am in the market for speakers for my Ipod or Macbook. The speakers in my Macbook are weak as hell, and I listen to alot of Metal..so I like it loud! Which would you guys prefer? I had the first gen of the HK Soundsticks, But I also like the BOSE with the dock and all for the Ipod. The sticks and woofer is much cheaper. Its like 170.00 versus 300.00. Any input would be appreciated!

FWIW, I feel like while Bose is a good system, you pay out the ass for the name. Unless a slight edge in sound quality is THAT important to you (Heavy metal involves distortion, you aren't going to be hearing the so called finer aspects of the bose system anyway), spend the surplus 130 on whiskey and some sour mix

I use Harman Kardons daily as well. Excellent product.

Yeah, Harmon Kardon are good, bose may be better, but do you really want to pay the extra 130 for a system thats just a little better? think of all the things you could do with 130$... Think beer and you'll be happy
