Heating...very odd....
Hey everyone
My girl drives an 03 Civic with the 1.7 vtech....the other day the engine got really hot on the gauge so I pulled over right away we were driving for about 2 hours on the interstate....The engine didnt feel or sound that hot so I was kinda suprised, checked the coolant and was a lil low so I filled it up a bit....I cranked the heat on the heater to pull some heat off the engine but it would only blow cold, the engine would go all the way to H on the hot o meter and would blow cold then after a few mins would kick out hot air and cool the engine.... Is this the thermostat? THanks for any help have a good labor day weekend!

This sounds like a classic stuck thermostat. I would start by pulling and replacing the thermostat. If that doesn't do it, there could be a blockage in the system somewhere, but more than likely, it's the thermostat sticking. While you're at it, you should also flush the cooling system and replace the coolant.
