'93 fuel system Problems

i have a 1993 cron vic V8 that stoped workeding my dad and i have just replaced the fuel pump and reattached all the wires and everything but there is no longer any fuel in the fuel rails... there was when we first re-installed the pump but now there is no fuel, why would this be?
might it be a filter problem?

Do you have voltage to the pump ?
