1999 2.2 5speed Starting Issue!!

Symptoms...

about a week ago i got in my car for work, and it wouldn't turn on!!!!

When i turned the key, nothing happened! Dash lights did come on, and there is a slight single click sound. but thats all
After a few tries it finally turned on.
For a couple days i had no issue, it always came on.

As of last night, it jsut wont turn on. My friends got it rolling and popped the clutch to get it going so i could get home, the moment i turned it off i tried again, and it wouldnt turn back on.

The battery is only a year old and all cables are in tact. Fuses are fine.

any suggestions?

my guesses are starter, or maybe something with the clutch ( clutch is only 6 months old now though, was replaced in March)

so everything else is fine, except for when you go to crank the starter??
if thats the case then you may want to check the starter connections, or it may just be bad

Thanks!! It was the starter!! got a new/used one from a grand am and everything seems great!! haha...next: the strut mounts, ugh
