Unhappy 95 bonn ssei

I'm new to the board and I need some help.

I just bought a used 95 bonneville ssei with 147K on it.

Problems:
1. the check engine light goes on and off, it would sometimes pop on and stay on when I start the car up. Other times it comes on as I'm driving the car and then might decide to go off. The dealer did do a tune up on the car.

2. the radio which is the factory cd player, isn't working at all, when I first looked at the car, the radio did work when the power on the steering wheel was pushed, but the volume control on the radio nor on the steering wheel worked the right, it had one volume which was loud only. I checked the fuse for the radio and it's in good condition, I can put a cd in it figuring that the cd would make the radio come on, all it does is click with the cd in and then pushes it in and out until I just take the cd out of the player, can anyone tell me what do with this, and if I have to remove the radio to see if the wires are connected, how do I do that. I've always been wantin a bonneville but I don't want to have to get rid of the car just as soon as I got it, Help me please!!!!!
