Sub Rattling Problems
I have a 12' Alpine Type R in the back and it makes everything in my eclipse rattle, does anyone have any suggestions or a solution to this problem? I know a good amount of it is the hatch and rear view mirror, but i fugured im probably not the only one who has had this problem..... Also and good ideas on where to put some tweeters?

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
Dynomat will help greatly to absorb vibrations/rattles...

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
First: You need to turn the sub up to as loud as you would listen to it.
Second: Get in the back of the car and listen and see where the rattling is coming from. I'm sure its coming from lots of different places. Also touch each panel in the rear of the car to see whats vibrating. Also listen to it on the outside of the car to see whats vibrating on the outside. Third: After you have figured out what is making the noises, fix it. If a plastic panel is rattling, take it out and apply dynamat damping map to the underside. It will work, I promise. Anything rattling that you can put dynamat on....do it. I done my whole trunk.

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
oh yea, is it best to put the dynomat behind the pannels on the back side, or on the framing and metal behind the trim and stuff or what? I have just never dealt with dynomat before and i have never had this problem before. thanks!

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
ok so you are saying do the under side of the hatch and the back of the plastic pannels as well, wont that still rattle since the bass is still hitting the front of them? i may sound really stupid, but i dont mean to.....

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
No that will stop most of the rattling, if there is still some then fix accordingly. Its going to be your call on the tweeters, you could just screw them to the a pillars but thats not going to be a very clean install. You could get some flush mount ones and see what you can do with them.

Re: Sub Rattling Problems
I actually was playing around with my dash and i found these pieces on both sides that look like vents, but...they aren't...thought it could be a nice place for some hidden tweeters. Anyone know anything about this ever being done? They are on the very bottom of the dash, they are fairly large, i dont think you could miss them if you wanted too.....
