I have a 1995 escort lx. The headlights went out. I cannot find where the headlight fuse is (not in box or under hood). Someone else said it might be the relay switch since there is no fuse can't find that either. Please help. I don't have the manual for the car (was bought used). Thanx

Re: Headlights
Hi dizzydog, and welcome to the forum. Here are some diagrams. The first is the wiring diagram - my Ford service manual has a single wiring diagram to cover all the '95 models.
The fuse should be the 'Head' fuse, rated at 30A and located in the engine bay fusebox. The headlamp relay should be located inside the vehicle, near to the interior fuse panel. Let me know if you need any help with the electrical fault-finding. Wiring diagram Fuse designations Fusebox layout Headlamp relay location |

Re: Headlights
Have you checked if any other lights are out? To the tail lights come on at all? Do high beams work? Brake lights?
If both headlights went out at the same time then a fuse/relay or the switch is the culprit. |
