Crx Problem..need Help Fast

i have a 1990 crx si....1.6L...everything factory in this crx...the other crx is my baby....the si is my daily driver...but anyways..i was driving it to work and everything i shift and press the acc. it suputters bad...then it will take off when i let off the gas a bit...feels like it is like flooding itself...

COULD THIS BE...
distributor, spark plugs, injectors, i was told by a guy that has 4 crx's that it is the...TPS ( throttle positioning sensor )

HELP GUYS..thanx in advance

Yup. sounds right..mine did it exactly like that..the ground wire had broken off the plug. check the ecu for a code 8.

well it isnt the TPS.....checked the oil...and it is a QUART over the full line...JIFFY LUBE messed up big time....u think that could be the prob ?

i dont think a quart would kill you, or do that. If your crank is dipping into the oil then yeah it would make the engine run like its pumping mud..but it would also whip up your oil into a nice froth...you may wanna drain it and check if your really worried..OR just drain the extra quart.

well idk what the prob is...could it be that my muffler is clogged and it is gettin too much back pressure...or what cause i have tried everything but new plugs and distributor...havent changed the tps but checked that and it is fine

check your fuel filter, see what the fuel looks like that is coming to and out of it. Sounds like you might be getting some bad fuel in it. If the gas going to the filter looks bad, go back and check the sock on the bottom of the fuel filter, it could be stopped up.

Had this happen sooo many times when I was at the salvage yard, and thats exactly what it would do. You hit the gas and it sputters, let it and it seems to do a little better. Everytime it was the gas.

Lift up the carpet under the passenger side footwell and count the blinks if there are any, my bet is there are 8.

i think he means the crank sensor. ive never heard of a tdc sensor.
