Rotor Help

Trying to remove the rotors on an '04 Silverado 4wd 2 door. They're stuck solid and I can't budge them. Any suggestions?

Re: Rotor Help

You might want to try to spray some break free on the back, or take a mallet and beat it free. I had to use a hammer one time and then took the rotors to get turned and it worked out fine.

Re: Rotor Help

Some car companies like too put a couple screws through the rotor in the area of the wheel studs that screws into the hub. I can't say I have ever done front brakes on a newer silverado. Don't be afraid to give it a good beating with a big hammer. Hit at a 45 degree angle from the wheel studs right onto the shoulder of the rotor where it mounts to the hub, this will kinda jar it at an angle. Be careful not to hit where the pads actually ride.

Re: Rotor Help

Same thing happened to me when I tried to remove my rear rotors, until I realized that the parking brake was on...

Re: Rotor Help

You will want to spray some PB blaster Spray on there. you can get from any auto store. Mine where rusted solid. I tried everything, hammer, trailer ball hitch, anything with weight. After I sprayed that pb blaster on it. after 5 mins, one tap and it pratically fell off. Best stuff in the world
