I needed to know whether anyone knew the location of the ATS for an 89 dodge ram van.

Inside the air filter housing. It has one or two vacuum hoses going to it.

On my 89 b250 the thing inside the air filter housing with 2 vaccuum lines running to it, is to switch the incoming air from over the exhaust manifolds when cold into the intake, or through the snorkel to the front of the Van when warm.

I think you are inquiring about the throttle body temperature sensor which is located at about 4:40 to 5 oclock On the TB, just above the Fuel input and return hoses. It is supposed to be covered in a white lithium type grease on the probe end. It's got a 2 pin connector.
