Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
Is there a classified area to the forums? I've been seeking out 3000GT spyders because I would like to buy a Sunday driver.
thanks Tom Finoke |

Yeah, it is unlikely you will find someone on AF here with one for sale. I would check 3si, ebay, autotrader, etc. Best of luck with the purchase and welcome to AF.

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
they go for anything from 15k to 45k depending on trim, miles, and condition. Autotrader always has a few, but you gotta be willing to travel, lol.

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
Sunday driver! Wow i would kill just to own on of those cars, great choice in a car definitely well worth the value and rarity. I would look at cars. com and auto trader i see them in there once in a while.

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
Hi to all, Thanks for the welcome aboard.
I remember the spyder at the 95 Philly auto show and always wanted one. I've been tracking the cars for sale since 2004 in an excel sheet. Mainly ebay but some other for sale sites too. I'm finally ready to purchase. I noticed that the production numbers are pretty similar between 1995 and 1996. I have plenty of 1995 cars tracked, but you rarely see a 1996 for sale. Is there any truth to the rumor that a lot of these cars were taken back to mitsubishi before being sold and disassembled to parts due to poor sales? |

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
i was wondering if theres any proof of that rumor as well...definitely post if you find out.
the only difference between 95 and 96 that i can think of is the ECU...went from OBD I-II hybrid to OBD II... did they remove any of the toys for '96? |

I've tracked only 6 - 96's for sale. (5 VR4's and 1 SL) Sounds kinda uneven? |

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
Well that's only online right? You can't possibly be tracking all sales. Not to mention its only a three year span. How long do people on average own a car? Let alone a car like that. '96 is a collectors item even more so than the 95.

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
the average car is owned for 36-45 months. in fact its becaome more common to lease than buy(fuck that shit) and most leases have become 27 months(gm/ford) or 36 months.
but yea i doubt anybody who owns a spyder will fall into that catagory. hot3000 found like 3 or 4 last night, i dont member the site, i'll call and ask later, or she'll post. there was one vr4, and that was 43g, granted it also had only 6500 miles or something like that.

Re: Looking for a 3000GT VR4 spyder
Thanks guys, any links to spyders would be appreciated. The problem is that I have 30k now to buy, but I want to wait for the right one. Low miles, nice color, lower production. When the one comes will my 30k still be with me LOL> ?
I've been tracking pretty constantly the sale (or attempted sale) of these cars in ebay since 2004 (and some other sites). Did I miss a day or a month here or there? Sure did. But I think I tracked enough to see that 96's are prooving more rare even though the production numbers are supposed to be similar. |
