Red Death - Status...

okokok... friggin bargain oil pan aslo had a friggin bargain leak. Guy is replacing it though so all should be ok. Should be getting final (hopefully - now I'm broke) shipment from Jeg's today...

Finished up wiring back half last night, front has been done, just need to finish wiring the dash, which is being held up by the dash pad. Speaking of that pile of crap... has anyone ever mentioned what a pain in the ass vinyl is to work with? The whole upper dash is vinyl'd except for the trim piece around the dash bezel (stitched part) - need something to fuse vinyl together - epoxy, hot glue, etc doesn't work. Going to try PVC cement and some other stuff tonight.

Switched my game plan though... I'm only covering the upper dash in vinyl until I get a chance to fab up a whole new dash, door panels and console. Need to buy a welder first, so that may take longer than I want it too, but to get RD where I want that's what I'ma hafta do.

Gorilla glue tends to stick things together, if that fails there is always duct tape .

Re: Red Death - Status...

as long as its not falling/crumbling apart, superglue WILL work. just dont use too much of it, small dots work better than big ass trails. just dont get stuck to your car

Your still using duct tape? From the same company as the famous Gorilla Glue comes Gorilla Tape! Over twice the adhesion than professional grade duct tape. Gorilla Tape also excels were duct tape fails: stucco, plaster, brick, masonary etc.

Gorilla Glue Co. isn't paying me so I will also mention professional grade duct tape is around $7-8 a roll, Gorilla Tape is about $9-10

Re: Red Death - Status...

?-? Need to glue it... tape won't work.. that'll look as hillbilly as anything I've ever seen.

Going to try PVC cement... see if it'll melt the vinyl together. Going to try superglue too.. not sure if carpet glue would work, but whatever the hell they put on the carpet seam tape would sure work. I think the linoleum and gorilla glue get hard / stiff / brittle and wouldn't last long, though I may be wrong. Going to try the PVC cement and superglue tonight... need to find out what kind of adhesive is on that carpet seam tape.

Re: Red Death - Status...

I would, but I'm afraid one of you mods will move it to the "Holy Shit I Can't Believe That Retard Did That To His Camaro" sub-forum, lmao.

Seriously though... I'll post some up this weekend.

Yeah dont use gorilla glue that would be stupid. Gorilla glue expands to 4 times the size, so it will probably make bumps in the vinyl. I dont think it ever gets brittle though...

How about JB Weld?

Re: Red Death - Status...

I think that is it.

Spray the the side of each piece you want to stick together. Then let it sit for 30 sec to a min till it gets nice and tacky and then stick it together.
