Car pulling left side
My car is 93 Grand AM bought 3 years back. 6 months back it started pulling gently towards left when driving and was giving some noise too towards drivers side. When I have it mechanic brake pad drum has gone and he replaced it. After that noise is gone.Regarding pulling he said there is chipping on tire which is causing it drift to left. From last week I observed one strage thing. I feel with my hands that steering becomes loose for while and immediately again comes in to control. I observed this happening at only more than 35mph. It seems really strange for me. Please help me by suggesting the problem and cost of remedy.

Re: Car pulling left side
hmm... its possible that the alignment might not be set to the OEM specs. is your car lowered if so this might be pulling it to one side cuz on mine i dropped it 2 inches and even with an alignment 3 times it still pulls to the right a little bit. ive actually heard pulling from one side if your bolts on the top of where the strut is located if its torqued to much on one side it will pull it to one side more than the other. im not sure if that really true. well besides the point i mean if the alignment doesnt work i dunno what else it could be. sorry hopefully xeroinfinity will jump in on this he'll kno more than me

Re: Car pulling left side
Sounds like you both are geting the
![]() It should not pull either way. The newer GAs with the VAS steering sometimes feels like its pulling, but it is more likly the pavement that is graded at an angle so water runs off, which is causing it to slightly pull. You also should get the alignment done with a comfuserized alignment shop. A lot of shops dont have these so its not perfect everytime and most dont recheck thier work. I always hated it when I had alignments done years ago, the steering wheel would be pointed left or right never centered. Then they'd say something like, "well we cant realy get that straight, bla bla bla" ![]() Get a second opinion if you can. good luck!

Re: Car pulling left side
could be as simple as uneven tire pressure so check that. Also if you bought cheap tires they can have a "radial pull" which is when the cords inside the tire are off-center. I had that happen to me last summer.

Re: Car pulling left side
Thanks for your reply. The mechanic told me it is computerzised process. Its pulling towards right more than gently even on plain surfaces too. one more thing is when I take turns on road, it is difficult, and feels like the steering is light.
If u have suggestions u r more than welcome. Thanks for your time Quote:

Re: Car pulling left side
Thanks for your reply. I called the mechanic regarding this. He asked me to bring it over. He also said problem could be with tires, later added that I will rotate the tires. Is it possible that tire rotation should fix the problem. Your suggestions are very welcome!
Thanks for your time and patience |
