Re: difference between 2 door trunk/hatch and 2+2 trunk hatch

I'm told they are different. I don't know why.. Every where you look they sell parts for either or (when it comes to the hatches and trunks that is). I don't understand unless I have a premoded 280zx 2+2.... As in I have a 1979 280zx 2+2 and the hatch is identicle to both my 1983 coupes. As in the hatch is actually origanally off my 83 parts car bolted up fine looks identicle. No Idea is it a sales gimick I don't know. I may have had a freak also....

Also on that note 79 may be prehatch differences as in 79 may have the same hatches but 80,81,82,and,or83 may be different.....

Re: difference between 2 door trunk/hatch and 2+2 trunk hatch

As far as I know the 2+2 and coupes are the same hatchwise but I don't exactly have my cars in front of me so I could be wrong. Also betamotorsports.com sells the carbon hatches but they really are a race only piece and I wouldn't use them on a street car.

Oh I thought you were talking about an S30. I don't have any idea about the hatch for a Z32 though I would imagine it would be the same still.

Re: difference between 2 door trunk/hatch and 2+2 trunk hatch

Z32 rear hatch for the coupe is shorter in length than the 2+2, by about 3 or 4 inches. You really see this in profile pictures of the 2+2 beside a coupe. They dont call the 2+2 the grociery getter for nothing. Its a good 8 inches longer than a 2 seater.
