Grand am acting up

Hey, I got a 95 grand am, that at first would die while pulling out of a drive way, then it got worse and would die when I came to a stop. I thought it was the TCC but first I cleaned the throttle body, replaced the plug wires, IAC valve and distributor coils.
And the problem went away for about 2 weeks,
But now theres a problem when it's over 80 degrees outside, I'll go out to start it in the morning and when I first take off, it will go slow for a second then shoot forward, slow for a second then shoot forward.
it does this about 5 or 6 times, then the car gets warmed up and the problem goes away for the rest of the day and it doesnt happen agian till the next moderatly hot day.
I've hooked it up to acouple of different ODBs and the ODB doesnt register the car, it says there isent a car attatched to it.
It doesnt really do anything else other then a slight engine hum (idle revs up and down) when it's in park.
And the check engine light has been going on and off since I got the car.
If anyone can give me any ideas to what the problem might be would be great! I want to try acouple of other things before I drop the tranny and change the TCC soleniod

Re: Grand am acting up

Sounds like your trany may be low on fluid or needs the fluid and filter changed, if it hasnt already recently.

Your car is a hybrid ODB I-II, so only the dealers and the realy expensive scan tools can read. I know, what a crock !

Here is the procedures for the TCC change, not realy hard just takes time.
Changing the TCC..

And Welcome to AF !!
