1997 malibu I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!

I am helping out a good friend. He has a 97 Malibu.It has sat for 1 1/2 years in his driveway because it failed emissions( need a converter). It is up and running and an hour before we were going to take it for the EPA test, it tripped a code a P multiple misfire. I am not to familiar with this make.I am not sure about all the problem that these early models had. Like leaking gaskets,or bad sensors. So if anyone knows of any common problems with these cars i would appreciate any help. Also I took off the upper intake to get an ohm reading and the injectors 5 were 12.5 and one was 12.7. Is that a enough to make a backfire code?

You're looking too far, more than likely needs fresh gas. If that doesn't cure it, I would try plugs and wires. Check the ignition coil towers for rust, if they are then replace effected coils...
