72 280 Milage?

I am looking at a 1972 280 4 door sadan that is in really good shape. It needs a head gasket. The seller is asking $800 for it. It is gas with an auto transmission. Any idea what kind of gas milage this car gets? Is there anything tricky I should know about changing a head gasket on this car, like any special tools or procedures?
