Engine question...
After reading about the wonders of Seafoam, I removed my EGR this weekend and gave it a thorough cleaning, and enjoyed smoking out the parking lot at my apartment complex at 10 p.m. Friday night after putting some down the inlet to the engine. No wonder I was getting a DTC about insufficient EGR flow, it was DIIIIIIIIRRRTY!
I also poured some into the crankcase as I'm having the oil changed out tomorrow and figured it won't hurt. In trying to get the smoke cleared, and the oil mixing, I floored it while sitting in the parking lot. I can't seem to redline it, the car won't let me get past 6000 rpm. I guess that's a feature, not a malfunction. What I am concerned about is...it would only stay at 6K for about 10 seconds, then would slowly drop to 3K where it would stay until I released the throttle. Is that a feature or malfunction? My other cars don't do that, they stay put. If it's a problem, what's the cause? Thanks! -Douglas UPDATE: 2000 Passport LX 4x4 (3.2L, no mods) Last edited by OnTarget; 08-29-2007 at 10:25 AM. |
