Gradient in homemade decals
I need to make some decals for a little side project that I'm doing. I am, however, using a gradient (from solid black to white) as part of the logo, and I am unsure how this will work using my Kinko's print-and-laser-copy method.
![]() I know a lot of you have Alps printers, and I'd be even more suspect of their ability to do this since I understand they need to use vectors or something. In any case - do any of you home printer folks have any suggestions on how to make this come out well with a Kinko's printer and copier or something similar? Any tips would be great. Thanks!

Re: Gradient in homemade decals
TBH ALPS printers may have a lot more issues with gradients than almost any ink jet in the market, due to the resolution and due to the transfer method.
Sorry I don't know what is a Kinko but with a good cheap ink jet ( I have one 9600x2400 dpi ) you can't have troubles printing your vector (or raster) gradients on decal paper, just like you haven't on photo paper. Different thing for lasers: I don't know very last generation but you should have a very HI resolution on lasers to rend a smooth gradient, the laser electrostatic tecnology do also often banding on gradients.
