How difficult is it to replace the Rack and pinon unit?

I have a 99 Grand AM 3.4 with EVO steering. Can I replace the rack and steering unit myself without a lift. Any help with the steps.

You can do it but you'll need jack stands, probly best to have a manual for all the procedures,
it is quiet involved with things that need to be removed as in the steering column and suspension.
It is tough getting some of the bolts off, since you're lying on the ground.

Try this link for a generic help.

Good Luck
