Need Brake light help!!

Was stopped last evening by local law enforcement and informed (and received a warning!) that the right brake light was out on my '95 Lumina. This morning got out the, owner's manual and tried with Dad's help (with bleeding knuckles as result) to replace the offending bulb. Took off wing nuts as instructed which didnt seem to do anything. Couldnt get to bulb at all. Please help...can't afford to take it in to repair shop and certainly cant afford a ticket.

Re: Need Brake light help!!

Once you get both wing nuts off, pull off the entire brakelight housing from the outside of the vehicle. That's how it is on my '90 1/2 and '93 Luminas anyway. You may be thinking that you can get access to the bulbs from inside the trunk of the vehicle. I made that mistake my first time trying to change the bulbs the first time too.

Re: Need Brake light help!!

Dear KKLumina,
Thanks so much for your help. Will try again in the morning. Indeed, I was trying to get at the light from inside the trunk. Thanks again.
