Increasing torque?

1. I really want to increase the torque on my focus.
its all stock. [[2.0L DOHC]] what would be the best
thing to buy for it to up the torque.

2. Also, what all would i have to do to it before i put a
supercharger on it?

Re: Increasing torque?

I will assume that you are looking for low end torque the simple way would be to stroke it out (simple idea, difficult execution) but i will assume that is also in the price range where it will need to wait awhile, as the price is around $3700 ish, but genaric mods such as an intake can help power throughout the rev range (although they are still biased to the top end. In the end mods are designed to do ether top end or low end and the zetec is designed with a balance in it now, if you tune for one end of the rev range you loose out in the other end. As for adding on the supercharger it really repends on the unit you are putting on, high boost will need mods to the bottom end, and most if not all will need mods to thew fuel system along with an ecu flash, do you have a url for the kit you are looking at?

Re: Increasing torque?

if you scroll down the page to the bottom you will find the power works supercharger, that offers both more pwer and torque with a flatter torque curve (220 whp vs. 180) i would suggest saving up for that (same price) and just calling up focus sport and asking them about what the car will need to be fully reliable at that power level, the guys at focus sport really know their stuff!
