1994 cougar charging problems

i have a 94 xr7 4.6L with 130 amp alt. this is what happened, and let me say i had no charging problems befor i did this that i knew of. I bought new guage faces. and a od repair kit . i pulled out the cluster, minding not break somthing. I replaced the od gears and installed new guage faces. I had to spray adhesive to the face that covered the amp guage, but i did not spray inside the guage, just the back of the face. With that said i installed all the parts back in the car and reconnected the batt. i started the car and checked all the guages to make sure they were working , all was good. so i was sitting in the car with the enging running, for about an hour while i was cleaning up and reprograming my stereo. when i noticed my amp guage was on 8v so got out my meter and checked the volts at the batt. it was round 12.87v so i figured i blew the 175 or 15 amp alt fuse or volt reg went bad. fuses were good. (i rebuilt the alt not so long ago. new brushes and a regulator) so i went to auto zone and got a regulator and put the batt on charge overnight. the next day with a fresh batt and a new regulator. started the car and watched my meter 14.39v while running . within specs but not good enough for me. let car run for a while watched the meter drop to 12.72v within an hour. dropping .01v-.02v at a time. so off came the alt. and to autozone it went. got tested. passed 3 times on there machine. installed back on car. replaced one wire, from the batt to the distribution box due to minor corosion. wire to starter is good checked main ground to block wire is in good condition and there is no resistance. checked other ground and it appeared to be in good shape too. batt is 1 year old and is in good working order. water is good load test come out good. batt does not discharge unless car is running. let it sit over night and the problem starts all over again 14.39vto 12.88v in about an hour. nothing i do makes a diference. i am about to loose my F@#king mind can anyone help???
