Out Went The Lights

All of my dash lights were working yesterday and then tonight I start the Rodeo and turn the lights on and no dash lights at all !!

I looked through my Haynes manual and still do not have clue how to diagnose ands fix.

Anybody have any experience with this problem.

Thanks,

Gary

Re: Out Went The Lights

Definatly start with the fuses. When you turn on the lights also check that the corner and tail lights come on. If they do then I'd suspect the dimmer switch on the dash or something after it. If not then its a problem with the ciruit before the dimmer switch.

Re: Out Went The Lights

My Rodeo is a 1996. There is a chart on top of the fuse box but I can't seem to be able identify what fuse is for the dash lights.

Does anyone else know what fuse is for the dash lights?

Re: Out Went The Lights

Gizmo,

The tail lights are also out. I checked both fuse boxes and can't identify the ones for the dash lights. I checked both the vehicle owners manual and the Haynes repair manual.

take a look at this thread and see if it helps.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...sh+lights+tail

you can also do your own search using the words 'dash lights tail' and you will get a ton of hits to wade through. the short story is they are all part of interconnected circuits.

both fuse boxes will have 'maps', the underhood one, and the one on the lower part of the dash panel, the map is on the swing down door.
