DRL problem

I have a 96 blazer and when my daytime lights are on they are fine, but when I activate my night driving lights the DRL do not shut off and start making a ticking from the relay center box in the right glove box. Especially when I apply the brake

Any Advice?

Re: DRL problem! Help!

In my '97 manual.....
There are 3 relays, left to right...Fuel Pump Relay, Horn Relay & Daytime Running Lamp Relay. Swap the middle & right relays and see if the horn works and your daytime running light problems still exists.

Day Running Lights Ticking

Help!

My day running lights work fine until the night driving lights are engaged.

The DRL flicker especially when the brake pedal is pressed.

Also making a ticking sound somewhere around the relay center in the glove box.

What should I do?

Re: DRL problem

Test or switch relays and have a look in the body control PCM.
If any body codes post back code no.

Did the body PCM communicate with the scanner?

I do not have any info on the DRL lights for a 96.

Are they add on or factory OEM.
Any add on remote start or anti theft stuff on there?

I would suggest a good factory service manual or a.

Re: DRL problem! Help!

It is all factory, and the scanner really did not talk to the computer. Maybe I just have a bad computer?

Angry NEED 96 blazer schematics

Just bought a 96 blazer, need schematics because someone had the orange wire to the power seats cut and than ran another orange hot wire from the dash board to the seats. I took that hokey wire out and re-hooked up the orange hot wire to the power seats, and I've tore up the carpet to follow the wire but it looks like it should work but nothing happens. Any ideas?
