no fuel or spark
this is my dillema. 97 astro awd,no fuel signal-new pump installed. Can fire pump with primer connection under hood, but the injectors don't fire either. It has no spark to the wires.I started with checking fuses, both under hood and dash.Ichecked grounds,in front of the fuel tank,on the stat housing, several under the hood.Cant find under dash.Where are they?Iwent as far as trying a different computer(below the batt.)Replaced the distributor.Seems to give signal from ignition control module(pulses) I am getting pulse at the crank sensor,as well as power and ground. The fuel gauge is now stuck over full. I am wondering what the common link between these is.I haven't found any fusible links in this system also. where are they at? I will be checking in often if you need any more info. From my browsing this website, you seem to be extremely helpfull,as well as intelligent. I hope that you can help 'cause I'm pulling my hair out now!!

Re: no fuel or spark
It used to have an aftermarket system on it, but I removed it 3 years ago. I even thought about the factory VATS system, but doesn't that also disable the starter?

Re: no fuel or spark
Fuel gauge will read over full when the fuel level sender loses ground. Could be an open circuit in the sender itself, or it could be a bad ground for it.
Fusible links are under the underhood fuse panel. Follow the fuel pump prime wire back, you'll find them. Fairly common problem for the connections to corrode. |
