Reorganizing things a bit... Ideas? Suggestions?

I haven't been putting as much effort into my AF duties as I should be... I've been very busy as of late and I have finally decided to try and reorganize things around here a bit... We have so many stickies that are disorganized and cluttered. I wanna try and clean it up a bit and combine some of them. I would also like to continue building on our Tech Article Section as we have a lot of good knowledge floating around here still...

Anyways... The reason I made this thread was to open up the floor to any new ideas or suggestions... One thing is for sure, I would like to cut back on the number of stickies in the Performance section... One thought I had was to make a new sub-forum and name it "Member Project DSM's"... Any opinions on this?

I know I haven't discussed this with the other Mods yet, but I figure everybody won't mind and we can have an open discussion about ideas...

We already have a Project section, why dont you guys clean it out, and put all the project threads in there. And make a list of rules, for how you can get your car into the project section.

I am in agreeance with Brian here, I appologize for not being around as much as I should be. I try to, but I get busy with work, my project, and being an overall lazy ass and I am sorry.

I like KoDKingVegata's idea, but that is a section for the AF Eclipse, not really ours. I think we should just make a new subforum for our projects and only have people's project threads in there. Also, "Performance" is a pretty loose term, I think we should rename it something more all encompassing than that.

Sticky the AF Eclipse thread in that section, and then just make the rest of them like a regular forum.

Thats a good idea, name it AF Eclipse & Other Projects or sumtin like that.

Really, I don't think AF had much to do with any type of support or sponsoring of that project Eclipse. That was one of the original members in this section IIRC and they just made it the "AF Project Eclipse" just because nobody else was doing anything too major to theirs... Maybe we'll look into it and see if we can remove that section altogether and just throw those threads in with the Member Project section... Or perhaps just rename the current sub-forum there... I'll have to talk to TS about it before we change that one up...

I also agree with Thor that the term Performance is too loose and we need to rename it to something more specific...

How about maybe like some regional sub-forums?

I'm sure you know what I mean. Like West for Cali, Nevada, Washington and etc. Northeast for like New York, Mass, New Jersey. Then 'Souf' for Texas, Louisiana and so on.

Otherwise, a little more forum exposure would be nice, seems like everytime I stroll through here its the same 5-10 regulars.

What else would you name the Performance section? It may be a loose term but it does pretty much encompass all the threads in the section. The only other term I could think of would be Mods or Modifications, something like that. But again that is broad as well.

Not that this is a bad thing or anything, but the boards here run pretty smooth lately. This place is vastly different from when I first got here and the structure we have now seems 10x more efficient and easier to navigate than the previous incarnation of the E/T/L section.

Not saying that we don't need improvements or anything but what we have now works pretty welll actually.

Right, I mostly wanna clean things up a bit and organize it all. You can always improve upon everything.

Alrighty well it was approved for the AF Project Eclipse sub-forum to be renamed as the Members Project DSM's... I'll be making all the movements and such of the Project threads. So anybody with one of those can find them in that sub-forum now...

"Member Project's" sounds more gramatically correct....if we're gonna get technical and shiiiiiiiiiit.

Technically, it would be "Member's Projects," since the apostraphe implies posession, and projects should simply be plural. But whatever guy!

I'd be all for a project car forum, it would be a good place to document the progress on the RWD. I'm too anal about multiple threads about one topic all over the place to go doing it myself, and I'm too lazy to look up a previous thread to add to it. A sub forum would make it a no brainer.

Are you talking about a thread for your newest DSM? If so I think that would be a great thread to have. This is the whole reason I started a project thread for my Talon back when I decided to go all out. Rather than have a million little threads about it.
