Angry transmission issues, keys stuck too, 79 Fbody

grrr so angry transmission has been acting funny lately for the past week been hard getting into park then when i shift my automatic into park i cant get the keys out then i had to go from park to reverse and that ususally frees up the keys

then today i get home and i was stuck in drive wouldnt park wouldnt even go to neutral or reverse turned the car off cause i was about to hit the end of the garage anyone know what i need to do? the car is a 1979 pontiac firebird with a 350 SBC with i believe a turbo 350 tranny

I would get the tranny cable replaced or adjusted. When the battery cables don't get good connection to ground. The transmission shift select cable is the next less resistance to ground. Hence, they burn up lol

Just a thought...
