cv joint or hub??
i have a 2001 gp gt sedan 123k miles on it, recently it has begun making a clicking noise when accelerating or braking from and to a stop. not always though. it sounds like a cv joint problem but it doesnt do it while turning. and it only clicks once. does it almost every time when in reverse as soon as the 15mph mark is hit. i dont think its transmission because the it sounds like it originates from the left tire. could it be the hub or cv joint?

Re: cv joint or hub??
Before doing anything check the brake calipers and make sure they are tight. This sounds more like something has come loose and is moving under braking or acceleration than a problem with a CV joint. I doubt it is a hub or bearing because you would hear the noise, kind of like a hum or growl when moving. Sometimes the ABS light will come on as the sensor is part of the hub.

Re: cv joint or hub??
another few possibilties are the lower control arm bushings, stabilizer bar/links and strut mounts/bearings. I agree with GTP Dad that it probably isn't a hub or cv axle as the noise would be more continuous, and increase in frequency/volume with speed.

Re: cv joint or hub??
well i recently changed the calipers on it and about a couple of days later is when the noise started, but i have checked them and they seem tight enough, ill go ahead and check the bushings and see if thats the problem thanks.
