electrical connector pin removal
I need to remove and replace several electrical connectors on my 1999 Passat that have water damage. These are located on the black box under the driver's seat. Any good techniques

Re: electrical connector pin removal
is it difficult to get to the black box? Also, what problems did you get with that box? I am not sure how to remove the pins however, I have heard people soldering them.

Re: electrical connector pin removal
Removal of the box means carpet removal. The box was have full of water from excessive rain. We had wierd lights and buzzers running do to the water. I found a "snap on" pin removal tool and that plus some wire to back up the tongs removed the pins. For the smaller ones I ground some wire to just slip into backing holes. New pins come with a wire attached so I soldered them on the approriate wires
