Finished Tamiya Williams FW13B

Well I finely finish my Williams FW13B I tried my best to reproduce Damon Hill’s Test car from 1993. First want to thank everyone for encouraging me during the building of this car and for your help. Special thanks to (robrex) for sending me the blue paint. This is my second 1/20th F1 car hard to believe that it’s been almost 1 year since I started modeling again. I learn a lot during this build like using and airbrush, mixing up paint, scratch building and using carbon fiber decals. There were many fit problems with the ride height but it’s done now and I am happy with the outcome over all. .

Enjoy

Great work Dave. Looks like you have really learnt a lot with this build. The scratch building looks superb. Can't wait to see the next.

All the best,
Bill

Super looking Williams Dave,it really does look great. It seems that masking and spraying is the way to go with the main body colours.I've enjoyed watching this one come together and I look forward to your next build.

This is the Damon Hill test car version from 1993.So there are no race numbers and I think it is also void of the ICI logos as well.Perhaps this is why it looks a little spartan on decals.I'm sure Dave will confirm this?

What Steve said is right there was no number on the test and ICI was taken off the car for they were no longer a sponsor because they would be switching to the FW14 car. So I copied the car the best I could seeing I only had a few reference photos. For the Bull logo on the front wing end plate was never on the FW13B.

Re: Finished Tamiya Williams FW13B

Very nice build, but why would Damon Hill be testing a car that was from the 1990 season?

That is a good question I don't have a answer for you. Just maybe they were getting him used to driving a Formula 1 car. I found the photos one Sutton Images website.
