Unhappy sable stereo amp

I am pretty sure the problem with my stereo is not the head unit, but the amp. The left side channel/speakers become distorted after about 1-2 minutes, indicating a weak or bad power transistor circuit. Ordinarily, these amp units are easy to find...BUT...mine is different. I have the '96 LS wagon with the Premium Sound auto a/c system with the JBL. The part number for the "usual" units is F6DF-18C851-AB, but mine is F6CF-18C851-DD. This is the original amp with a stamped date of 10/9/05.

So far, NO ONE has this specific amp. with the DD code. I've tried a national search of salvage yards and Ebay. The Mercury dealer shows a substitute for $785! Yeah, right. I'm not even sure it's actually the DD model which has large heat sinks all around and a vertical mounting plate for the station wagon side mount.

Do any of you know where I can get one of these (correct) amps?

Might actually be cheaper to just get an aftermarket amp lol. But even that is a PITA. Good luck , Ill have a peek, if I find anything, will let cha know.
