j pipe problems

some of you might recall that I blew my stock t-25 turbo in my 98 talon.
I bought a new 16g turbo to replace it. the turbo is installed and all of the lines etc... I bought an install kit for it, well all that is left to install is the j pipe that goes from the turbo to the intercooler piping. I bolted it on and it pressed right up against my radiator fan and is pinching the wires and is stopping the fan from being able to move. I am not sure how to fix it.
if any of you have an idea or have had this happen I would love to hear what you have to say
thank you
ben

Re: j pipe problems

I know they make several different j pipes. Are you sure you got the right one for your car? Does it line up with the intercooler pipe?

Re: j pipe problems

Can you get any pics up of the setup? When i still had my stock fans in, the factory j-pipe going to the sidemount fit perfectly. When i got the new J-pipe for my FMIC it curved out towards the drivers side and would hit up against the fan shroud. I ended up taking the fan out and taking a hammer to the metal shroud so it wouldnt be rubbing up against it. But, i didn't have any problems with it coming in contact with any wires and affecting the performance of the fan.

Re: j pipe problems

well I found out why the fan is not working it is broke. but no worries I just took it out and then I had tons of room. I figure that if the fan was not working when I was driving before the turbo blew then it should be fine now. it is the ac fan I never use it anyway. so I got every thing together and started the car. but I do have to fix one little leek, the oil return line were it bolts to the oil pan leeks but not bad at all. I think I will just clean off the surfaces and put it back together with rtv compound ect...
this is my first turbo upgrade so if there are any suggestions or things I should know I would love to hear them
thanks to all
ben

Re: j pipe problems

Might want to be careful takin out the ac fan. I took mine out bc I didn't have the room and now my car overheats when the ac is on. So I cant use it. That also could be bc of my fmic to. I just bought a smaller fan to put in there.
