Jeep Cherokee VS. RWD Astrovan

Man, you guys would have loved to see this the other night. I was at wally world, and these guys start arguing in the parking lot, i think it was over drugs... but ne ways this guy takes off runnin and jumps in his Cherokee and floors it... the other guy yells "where the hell you think your goin" jumps in his beater astrovan and floors it... and They're off... Never even left the parking lot... its a big lot and this astrovan is just chaseing the jeep... and to my surprise it has absolutely no problem whatsoever keeping up... never seen a van corner like that, tires just spinning and smoking... back doors just flying around. freeking funny... this goes on for like 10 or 15 minutes, by the end both guys are in handcuffs, the van rolled both drivers side tires, and ripped off one of the back doors, and the driver of the van got hit by the jeep. and the jeep got rear ended at least 3 times by the van, and the driver ended up going to the hospital for what seemed to be an entirely rearranged face. if i had a camera you guys would be dying of laughter right now. but point of the story... i couldn't beleive how well that van seemed to keep up with, and even gain on this Cherokee. I think it may have been the funniest thing ive ever seen. glad no one got hurt my 2 morons doing no less than 50 thru a parking lot

Had they got onto the street i think the cherokee would have fared much better. Note to self always carry a camera....

So you live in Compton?

Oh wait, you said Wal-mart parking lot, it could have been anywhere.

Re: Jeep Cherokee VS. RWD Astrovan

This might have been a real kill. Did the astro appear stock? If so that is just sad if the jeep couldn't get away.

Re: Jeep Cherokee VS. RWD Astrovan

Jeep Cherokee = 4.0 I6 = very, very slow... high 17's maybe mid on a good day...

I have a friend with 2 of those 4.3 Astro vans... One of them is AWD and is a tank and gets about 15 mpg on the highway... The other one is surprisingly quick out the hole but falls fast...

It may have just felt fast (kinda like a locomotive).

I don't even know if those vans will punch out of the 18s. Gotta go google it now
