99 jimmy cranks but dont start

okay my girlfriends gmc jimmy will turn over but will not fire. it sounds like it is almost about to fire.

Things i have checked. fuel pump is working (hear it running)
plugs are decent

when i tested the spark there was no spark across the plug i had out of the cylinder.

what could it be

Check for spark at more than one plug. Make sure the plug is grounded. Spark should be blue, not orange. When were the distributor cap, rotor and spark plug wires replaced last? Always check fuel pressure with a gauge. Just because the pump is running, doesn't necessarilly mean it is building proper pressure, and able to hold it.

I am having similar issue with mine starting. got my truck scanned and shows the coolant temp sensor is bad. but about your fuel pressure you need 60psi to get it started.

Might want to change out the ignition module.

I`m Having simalar problems its a friends car and he did a intake gasket repair on it . And now wont start. I put a inline spark tester on the coil and its getting fire . And i can smell fuel . But wont crank I pulled the dist. and put the rotor pointing at 1 plug and still nothing and also tried rotating it again thinking maybe 180 out but still nothing. can you help me also with this I`m am tired of fooling with it and it`s ony been 3 days working on it thank You
