2000 Buick Regal GSE Fuse Block problem
I have never heard of this happening but recently I had my 2000 Regal just die while cruising down the fast lane at minimal RPM and there was absolutely no warning. After having it towed to a GM dealership and a day and a half of them trying to determine what is wrong they said that the Fuse box had failed and needed to be replaced. I have been around cars a bit in my life as a back yard mechanic but I have never heard of this happening. Anyone else ever see anything like this? Any and all comments welcome.
Thanks. |

Re: 2000 Buick Regal GSE Fuse Block problem
Welcome to AF!!
I have been around cars a long time and have never heard this one. Although anything is possible. There is a power cable that runs to the fuse block and if that connection were to fail the car would probably stall and not restart. I had this happen once to a Dodge ambulance and had to rewire around it but with the newer cars this is almost unheard of. Did the dealership replace the fuse block and if so is the car back in running order? |

Re: 2000 Buick Regal GSE Fuse Block problem
I have not picked the car up yet, just got the word today what the problem was. What they said they found was that there was a couple of breaks in the wiring running to the fuse box. Once those were repaired they still were not getting power coming out of the fuse box so they determined the box was bad. Problem is the car is at the dealer about 200 miles away so I am kind of at their mercy and have to trust a mechanic I don't normally deal with. So I am just trying to get opinions to make sure this dealer is not just trying to screw me. Again thanks for any and all input.
