New JGC owner help with stalling problem
Just bought a 1994 JGC Laredo 4.0l with 176k miles as a project vehicle.
When I stop, say to turn around, and shift gears the RPM's drop to 0 and it stalls. I could be going down the road and stop at a stop light and it's just fine RPM's around 800. Any thought's? |

Re: New JGC owner help with stalling problem
Is engine light coming on? If it is try to get a code to see what may be the problem(s). Can be numerous things causing that to happen...dirty injectors, dirty throttle body, bad throttle positioning sensor, air charge temperture sensor.... Just so many little things could cause it to do that and that is where I would start with the little things and try to narrow it down. Unless there is an engine code that tells you exactly what it is, most likely unless you take it to a garage the code you get is caused from something other than the real problem, you know how it is, engine code might tell you it is a bad TPS but a good throttle body cleaning cures it, lol.

No codes stored, Could it be the IAC valve? Guess I'll take it and have the injectiors and TB cleaned
