Duralast Ball Joints?????

I have a 95 4wd S-10 Blazer. The ball joints are out and I am going to attempt to replace them. There is quite a bit of price difference between Auto Zones lifetime warranty Duralast and MOOG ball joints. Anybody have any experience with the Duralast?

There is a large difference in price because there is a large difference in quality.

Re: Duralast Ball Joints?????

I can answer this maybe...Duralast is the AutoZone Brand name, they just relabel everything with it. The suspension parts are going to be Mcquay-Norrise (SP) or TRW depending on the part. And if it ever fails, lifetime warrenty, if your still alive. and you don't have to worry about finding your recipet!
I know this as a fact because I was the manager of a local Autozone and had specific relabeling procedures regarding TRW parts. Yes... Duralist is made by TRW... i own a 97 blazer and replaced my ball joints 4 years ago with no problems.

Re: Duralast Ball Joints?????

I did uppers on my 93 blazer with duralast balljoints and the shield that holds the grease boot on did not fit in the hole in the control arm. auto zone said to call moog because they were the manufacturer. moog would not offer tech. support unless their name was on the product. the phone calls were after the fact. I did the job at night and needed the car for work the next day, so installed the ball joint with the flange and shield under the control arm instead of on top as per original. no problem but I did have it re-aligned.

Re: Duralast Ball Joints?????

Moog has the better lifetime warranty and all AutoZone makes is junk.AutoZone's lifetime warranty is one time only and no one knows about this.Go with Moog ball joint instead.
