Re: location

Welcome to AF!

The theft deterrent is controlled by the BCM on your car. There is no separate theft deterrent module listed for an 01 Impala.

Re: location

Thank you for the advice. See the problem is that I had a car come into the shop having problems with the security system, the immobilizer would shut down the fuel pump while driving. So I hooked up the scanner and a lot of codes came up . One was related to the anti-theft module circuit fault and the rest where related with the body, about 15 codes . Maybe a faulty BCM. Well I tried to clear codes and now it won't start.

Re: location

That could be due to your pass lock. The car is equiped with pass lock, where if the ignition switch doesn't sense the right resistance in the key, then the car just wont start. I have the same problem, but mine is rare and the car starts after a few tries.
