Wow I will say that its still the battery or one of the battery cables has oxidized/corroded so bad it won't carry the starting current anymore (and sometimes you Cannot see how bad the cable is when its in the engine bay, remove them)

Toggle the ignition switch (key) on/off a few times repeatedly.

I would agree with panzer on this one, and if that works, then you might want to try cleaning your existing ignition switch, or replacing it. Clean first though, much cheaper that way.

Turn the key from OFF to ON, you should be able to hear the fuel pump prime if you have the window down and its quiet, or you might need an assitant to listen for it. Also make sure that all of the dash lights come on for a few seconds right after turning to the ON position.

Have you tested the battery with a load on it? Autozone/Advance will do that for you. Sounds like you have a dead battery or at least a bad cell in it. Will it start if you jump the car?

-this is the typical case. Since you are hearing the click the solenoid is operating. =You have enough power to get solenoid to move, but not enough power to get the starter motor to turn the engine.

Look at the connections very closely and cut them back if there is corrosion. Hook up a battery charger to your car 30/50/100 amps and see if it will start.

Be careful working around batteries.
