Tonneau Cover

Anyone have a tonneau cover for their quad cab? (2005-2007) I'm interested in getting one and would like to know if anyone has any opinions, good or bad. The last cover I had, had snaps and I hated it, especially in winter. I was thinking of a "roll-up" type or folding hard cover.

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Tonneau Cover

i would say get a roll up one that is hard they have them out here in canada its sold by a company that makes rollshutters (the steel walls that go over windows and stuff in stores when their closed) (kinda like in the movie the punisher when he rools down the steel over the window) cloth ones stretch and than they look bad. i have a fiberglass ones on my 2000 dakota i wouldnt recomend it unless you arnt going to be hauling anything. unless its easily removable

Re: Tonneau Cover

Thanks for your reply. After looking around a little, I think I may get a "vinyl folding style" cover. I saw one from X tang that looked pretty good and looked very simple and quick to open and remove.

Re: Tonneau Cover

only problom with that is it may get weathered(cracks and peels) and it may stretch but their usually more affordable and will last atlease 1-2 years before you notice anykind of stretching less if you live in a climate that has hot summers cold winters and rainy inbetween

Re: Tonneau Cover

Do a lot of looking. There are a lot of new style tops out there. Ive seen some hard plastic tops that fold in sections, which can open without the tailgate down.

Just figure on what youre goign to use it for and find what you need. Hard tops are nice and look great. Im going to be selling mine but im not sure if it fits. I want to get a lightweight smooth finish one. Im working on making my truck a little hot rod so...

But yah, just look around try going to a truck accessory shop.

Re: Tonneau Cover

plastic? never heard of such a thing that might be a cheaper alternative to a fiberglass one and it will still have the glossy finish as well.

Re: Tonneau Cover

I would stay away from the roll up one on a quad cab because the box is small enough as it is and the cover takes up some space in frt.
